Michael Andretti and Dan Towriss’s company is charting out a path to join the Formula 1 grid in the future. The company is under the joint ownership of former racing sensation Michael Andretti and Dan Towriss, who serves as CEO and President of the financial services firm, Group 1001. They plan to form a partnership with General Motors as they aim to step into the high-octane world of Formula 1.
Their team, Andretti, currently engages in eight separate motorsport platforms and races across six continents. An announcement from the FIA regarding their potential entry into the Formula 1 space is highly anticipated.
The company recently announced a rebranding effort to Andretti Global in order to unify all aspects of the organization under one identity. This move aims to better align with the team’s established legacy. The previous Andretti shield will be substituted with the new Andretti Global logo.
Andretti has a significant presence in the sphere of racing, including the IndyCar Series, Indy NXT, and IMSA SportsCar Championship in the United States. It also participates in Formula E, Extreme E, Australia’s Supercars and Super 2 circuit, and Mexico’s Super Copa series via the team Walkinshaw Andretti United.
Michael Andretti expressed immense pride at the achievements of Andretti over the years, appreciating the numerous significant moments. He said: “Just as proud as I am of our past, I’m equally excited about our future. As we continue to expand and build a global racing institution, our goal is to be engrained in the culture of our fans, teams and partners. This rebrand is a major milestone in our team’s journey, but we are only getting started. We are determined to achieve success and confident that there are big things in store for Andretti Global.”
Dan Towriss shared his admiration for the Andretti name, which is legendary in motorsports, and applauded the global reach of their fanbase. He stated, “I’m proud to be working with Michael and his team to build that name and legacy into an even stronger brand that reflects our ambitions and values. We are committed to excellence, and I believe our work will benefit our fans and partners around the globe.”
Andretti’s Formula E team will be the first to represent the newly rebranded Andretti Global banner. The team, as the current drivers’ world champion, is set to inaugurate the 10th Formula E season in January next year.
