P1 Fuels, an exclusive supplier for the World Rally Championship, is working with some F1 team suppliers to evaluate potential future partnerships, as grand prix racing is set to switch to fully sustainable fuels from 2026. The company believes that showcasing its technology in motorsport can help fast track its products to widespread consumer adoption. P1 co-founder and COO Benjamin Pochammer revealed that discussions with teams are already underway to see how it could get involved, even though F1 is currently working exclusively with Aramco for the development of regulations for the 2026 fuels.
While Pochammer did not reveal with which companies and teams they were speaking, he hinted that the partnership could have a big impact, exposing P1’s products to the public. The vision of P1 is to make a difference in the mass market. Pochammer added that their relationship with Sebastian Vettel, who completed a demonstration run on fossil-free fuel in Nigel Mansell’s championship-winning 1992 car at last year’s British Grand Prix, was entirely informal. Vettel is a big advocate for sustainability in motorsports and has been using P1 Fuels for his cars.
