Formula 1 and Viaplay Group have announced a partnership in the Netherlands that will give Viaplay customers access to F1 TV Pro, along with Viaplay’s premium sports, films, and series. The agreement will cover the 2024 Formula 1 season and will provide Dutch fans with even more ways to follow home hero Max Verstappen. Verstappen, the reigning World Drivers’ Champion, has an ambassadorial role for Viaplay and appears in their programming as part of a long-term partnership.
The Formula 1 coverage on Viaplay in the Netherlands is currently in its second season and will continue to broadcast races live with Dutch commentary next year. Fans will also be able to watch every Qualifying session and Free Practice, as well as enjoy extensive studio programming, documentaries, and highlights. Through the addition of F1 TV Pro, Viaplay viewers will have access to additional features such as international commentary, multiple onboard cameras, Pit Lane and Paddock feeds, and in-race radio communications.
Max Verstappen, Formula 1 World Drivers’ Champion, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “Working with Viaplay is hugely enjoyable, and I’m proud of the unique content we deliver together to fans in the Netherlands and around the world. He mentioned the inclusion of various Dutch sports personalities, including Max Verstappen, Cody Gakpo, Virgil van Dijk, Erik ten Hag, and Michael van Gerwen, and described the partnership with F1 TV Pro as a “first-of-its-kind” opportunity that provides immersive racing experiences and insights for subscribers.

Aside from Formula 1, Viaplay’s sports rights portfolio in the Netherlands includes the Premier League, Bundesliga, EFL Championship football, PDC darts, and Hoofdklasse field hockey, among others.
