Mercedes is hoping to gain a better understanding of its car’s potential at the Barcelona Grand Prix after struggling to gather clear data at the Monaco Grand Prix. The high-speed aero demands of the Spanish track should allow for a more accurate evaluation of the car. The team has also made two refinements to its car, removing an upper mirror vane and tweaking the side-view profile of its diffuser to increase flow and downforce. Meanwhile, Ferrari has changed its sidepod philosophy towards a Red Bull style of downwash for better flow conditioning and cooling flow management. Red Bull has also introduced improvements to its RB19, including a revised floor edge and reprofiled top corners of the diffuser for increased downforce.
