Max Verstappen topped the second practice session at the Monaco Grand Prix with a time of 1m12.462s on the soft tyres. The Red Bull driver was initially quickest on medium tyres, but Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton subsequently clocked faster times. Verstappen then set a time in the 1m13s before beating Hamilton to top spot. Alonso later moved to the top of the timesheets on softs, only for his countryman Carlos Sainz to go even quicker. Verstappen then produced the fastest lap of the day, albeit in practice. He finished ahead of Charles Leclerc and Sainz. Lando Norris broke down during the session.
